you want faster ram, faster ram reduces the latency between the cores. Try and get 3200mhz if possible so you can take advantage of the boost once the high speed ram fix is sorted

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Fb8rhq weird that the link doesn't work unless you copy paste. usually you can just click on it. that being said here is a modified version with a better psu as the one you choose is crap quality and you can get a better one for the same price.

I would but I don't have the money and I am trying to prove to my friends I can build a budget pc with a good setup on a budget they think I will get like 1 fps and I can't go any higher because I am a teenager and I don't have a job.

Tho I don't have Ryzen, I've heard a lot about Ryzen NEEDING low latency RAM. So, you don't need the best, but you want to get RAM with the lowest Latency possible. I saw a chart somewhere where terrible latency ram made it lose about 25% performance when compared to good latency ram.

no it was more about frequency as the higher the ram frequency the higher the memory bandwidth of the infinity fabric. that being said op will be fine with the r7 1700 and a rx 480 as there will be a gpu bottleneck before a cpu bottleneck

I looked at the stock one its actually pretty good you can even overclock with it.

yeah you would probably be fine to get an oc of 3.7 on all cores. i currently am running at 3.7 on all cores at 1.1875 volts which wont produce too much heat for a stock cooler. getting higher than 3.7 on all cores ill probably not be possible because the voltage requirement is much higher after 3.7

I can always buy a better cooler in the future

you should be fine performance wise at 3.7 on all cores. i get well over 60 fps on all the games i play but i have a 60hz monitor so i lock the fps at 60 anyways so you should be more than fine with the rx 480.

Do you think I should use the Ryzen 7 1700 or the r5 1600x
