Upgrade to old H320 prebuilt?

So I have an old lenovo H320 pre-built PC from like 7 years ago. I was thinking about possibly turning it into a gaming PC so I could give it to a friend or something, so I was hoping for some help with the possible upgrades  

 

Current specs are in signature.

 

I was thinking about changing the chip to a xeon X3470, which I'm pretty sure is LGA 1156, changing the cooler to something better and smaller, adding a SFF 1050 (if any that fit exist) and possible adding one more 3GB stick to make it 9GB (yep it has 2x3GB)

 

Also it has a DVD player in it but its really weird and doesn't work right so is there a chance I could change it?

 

Any suggestion? Thanks!

First time I hear of 3gb ram sticks. Do those exist? Are you sure you're not running 4GB + 2GB right now?

 

The smallest 1050s I can think of are Zotac's 1050 Mini & MSI's 1050 low profile.

Check the wattage of the PSU first otherwise go for it :) 

It will be a decently capable machine once upgraded. 

 

Both Zotac and MSI has LP version of the 1050 sooo...you're in luck today and yes, I'm only linking to show they exist
