Well somebody one told, I only have to drain the loop once a year if I only use distilled water (which I'm planning to do).

Is that accurate, of course I would use PT Nuke along with it.

if your using just distilled water, then yes you would be fine once a year. Only if you were using an opaque additive such as Mayhem Pastel would you want/need to do it every 6 months.

Hey community,

I've got a question.

I'm about to build my first water cooled system, and so far it costs me ~800€ or 850$.

That's a lot of money to spend, but the loop at least to my knowledge is reusable, so I will only have to replace my CPU Block or GPU Block once I buy new hardware or Tubes.

It's that true or do I have to replace Radiators and Pumps often as well.

I don't want to get into water cooling if it costs me a lot of money in the long run.

As long as you do proper maintenance on your loop, you souldnt have any problems. It is recommended you do a drain/flush on your loop every 6 months if you are using any type of opaque additive to your loop, such as Mayhems Pastel as they do gunk things up. You should also about once a year disassemble your CPU and GPU blocks to give them a good cleaning to remove any build up on them. If you have EK blocks, then they will have tutorials on their website on how to do this.

I would get a coolant because they contain biocide and anticorrosive agents. Just make sure they are compatible with your tubing. Ethylene glycol coolants don't work with petg

Nope I'm just here for the cooling Performance ^^, so basically one could say that you have to replace tubing every so often but I don't have to replace Rads or Pumps often ?

He is using an additive for that called PT Nuke.

Yes, your plan to use PT Nuke is just fine.

Yes, just add them into distilled water. Our tap water in Abbotsford BC has the best tap water in the world so it's kinda unnecessary
