I have a GTX 760, and if i play my games on ultra i get more FPS than if i played on low? this makes no sense to me and happens in H1Z1 and GTA. All above 30 but.

a8-7600. if it is this what cpu should i get? will even consider a old 8350 at this point

Wait for Ryzen 5 and 3, then get that. I think there is a bottleneck

You shouldn't always assume that the lowest settings = more frames, sometimes you need to force more work on the hardware so it reaches its full potential, I remember my i7 6700+GTX560ti would do 55 avg fps on GTA IV all minimum and 70 fps average with all max out, because all low under-clocked both CPU and GPU lol.

Yeah but if you're going to buy hardware, might as well get something that has support in the future and warranty. The 2500k is getting long in the tooth and in a few years will be even more outdated than it already is. Yes it still performs decently atm but it isn't worth switching to. Save up some money, get newer hardware and go from there.

i5 6600k @ 4.4ghz on Hyper 212 Evo

Powercolor RX 480 8Gb Red Devil @1330Mhz

Bottom line:  Don't be a spaz or an 800lb gorilla when installing your expensive CPU, and you won't have any problems. --Phate.exe

Go for it. You'll need DDR4 memory though and it's about $50/8gb.

Go with the 1050ti. Not all games handle SLI well. Also you have a longer life with the 1050ti. Depending on the 1050ti you get though, a rx 470 might be a better choice for much better performance. This should give you an idea on that. https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/products/video-card/#c=380,376&r=4096

1060 is closer in performance to the 480/580. They trade blows on games pretty regularly. Though if you want to spend the extra money then go for it. Might be worth waiting to see if a 1070ti comes out though.
