Just bought a new msi gs63vr gaming laptop with an i7 7700hq CPU and a geforce 1060 GPU. Ive only had it for a couple days but I feel like the temps in it are a little high. Am I just overreacting? Is this normal for a laptop with that kind of power in it? Anything I can do to help it.

Maybe investing in a good cooling pad would be a good idea? or should i be worried about those temps? I feel like rocket league isnt that resource intensive and shouldnt be making this happen, it also goes pretty high while playing csgo and i have it on basically min settings.

its a laptop... anyway RMA it maybe? look up some reviews that go into the normal temps before that thought. its really not good for your chip to be that hot but its just going to throttle back

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Considering the thermals Notebookcheck got on it with up to 61C on the bottom middle side of the chassis while under max load, I'm kind of not surprised the internals get even warmer.

So I think this is a case of "too much power stuffed in too small a form factor."

EDIT: If MSI makes the product sticker, someone needs to be taken out back with a wiffle ball bat:

What the heck is a "Intel H-Series CPU"?
