I'm looking for an RGB / mechanical keyboard that works great for typing/gaming. I also was trying to find one with RGB that doesn't have too much spillover mainly want it for times I play at night the only one I have seen so far is the new corsair platinum but that's a bit much so came here for input.

Corsair K70 RGB if you don't care about macros is really good.

get brown switches though.

typing on MX reds or MX speeds is bad.

I know I am going to get shit for this, but you should look into a keyboard with Romer-G switches. (The Logitech G810/G910) these have no spillover....

No... I use the Corsair STRAFE RGB with MX Reds and I can tell you it is VERY nice for typing. However, that is a personal preference thing...

Well I've personally used reds and browns, and while typing on reds is fine, it's not good. OP can get much better feel for typing (and IMO for gaming) with browns

reds/speeds are considered gaming prioritized switches.

This is subjective. The OP should try the switches out before buying a keyboard... I have tried MX Browns and I prefer reds for typing...

yeah I was thinking about romer-g but watched the video linus made kinda made me hesitant

Go to a store and try the switches for yourself, so that you can make sure that you like the feel of the switch...

get a K70 with browns, the K70 is a really nice keyboard unless you need macros, the RGB also looks really nice in person, i have a friend with a K70 RGB and its really good

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Well I'm not to picky about typing experience I have tried the k65 always thought it was loud but worked the only thing I could see being picky about is if the spil over makes the keyboard rgb look horrid

Definitely check out the Romer-G switch then. It might not be the best in terms of feel, but it has NO spillover at all.

Get the HyperX Alloy FPS keyboard. I have the original Alloy and i can tell it is a very nice keyboard reliable and it comes with a choice for 3 switches. I have it in blues and it is a wonder for gaming and typing, you can also go for browns or reds. The only problem is that it only has red backlight, but the keyboard is so worth it i would even wait for the Alloy RGB model to be released

K are expensive, K65 is TKL. I prefer full sized

I always used the numbers above I never never ever needed to use the keypad and TKL keyboard is useful because I dont have space on my desk for a full size keyboard because that QCK heavy if you know what I mean.

Coolermaster Masterkeys Pro S, M or L depending on how much space you have on your desk/whether you want a numpad/insert, home, etc.

The RGB is pretty nice on it,
