Currently, I have a PC that a built a number of years ago and a laptop that I use for college as a Computer Programmer. A friend of mine is looking to upgrade their rig for a low cost and I'm thinking of selling him my rig and using my laptop until I'm working full-time and can afford to build a new one. Anyhow, the specs are as follows.

  • 3770k + Hyper 212 with (2) Corsair SP fans

  • MSI Z77-GD65 mobo

  • 16GB G.SKILL 1600 DDR3

  • EVGA GTX 670 FTW

  • Corsair HX750 80+ Silver

  • Corsair 400R

  • Crucial M4 128GB SSD

  • (2) 1TB 7200 HDDs (WD/Seagate)

What seems like a fair price for this system in Canadian Dollars?

Probably somewhere at 650-ish Candian. Maybe a bit more, if you have some patience in selling it.

You should consider not selling your HDD's and SSD though, as people could try to get your personal info back (even if you formatted them)

I'd be selling the rig to my best friend. As such, that's not a concern of mine.

As for the valuation, this is the range I was going to offer him, but I just wanted a second opinion to be sure I wasn't going to overcharge him.

Just boot into DBAN and wipe the drives you're giving him with it and then reinstall windows afterwards and you'll be good to go. He might not do anything but what happens if he then upgrades and sells the drive? In my experience it's always best to cover your own ass lol.
