So I got 800 dollars Canadian(give or take 100 dollars wiggle room). I'm trying to figure out what I should be looking at as far as parts go. I wanna play all the current games and I'm not looking for 4k.  But I'm worried with my price range my selection will limit my ability to update in the future. First PC build so I'm not sure what I should be looking for, and frankly this stuff is confusing. I had an alienware laptop that was handling the games for awhile, but really fallout 4 was the last thing it'd run on low settings. Now I got a steam library I don't wanna lose. But I worry my alternative would be going console.  Any pointers, build guides or parts list suggestion would be welcomed.

Solid 1080p performance, white and black (neutral) theme. If you can spend a bit more I'd add a 240GB Adata SSD to speed things up, or upgrade the CPU to a i5-7400 and either BIOS flash or use a B250 mobo.

  • Let me know if you'd prefer a different color scheme. :D

This is good, but I'd recommend dropping one of the RAM sticks to invest in an SSD. That kind of build doesn't need 16GB of RAM, and it can easily be added later. Cloning is more difficult as it can introduce plenty of problems.

I'd recommend you start a new thread xD

Regardless:

Drop the HDD if you can't pay 750 rn, and get the HDD later as it's only $50 so not a huge investment

What province do you live in? I'm trying to procure a build you may be interested in and I need to figure out the current tax rate so I can take that into factor in the total price of the build.

This is a forum for helping people.  We wouldn't do that.  Now if someone asks for help but really only wants validation, that's pretty annoying. xD

This is a relatively inexpensive SSD to install Windows on.  Prices have been a little high for the past 6 months because of a worldwide NAND shortage.

  • 2 months later...

To bring this too a close. The part list sky rocketed and in the end I decided to go console. 500 bucks late I got a console and a couple of games. The triple a games are going to be on console. The PC games I want that were exclusive were like star citizen and a bunch indie games on steam. In five years they're going to cheap and I can buy a new computer and waste a hundred bucks during a steam sale. Consider I posted this back in March and didn't make up my mind until a few days ago. Console killer isn't a thing anymore :C
