ASUS Z270 PRO GAMING vs MSI Z270 TOMAHAWK

depends if you're buying 6th gen or 7th gen processors

z170 is forwards compatible but it needs to be updated with a 6th gen cpu to use 7th gen cpus

idk

Asus Z170 Pro Gaming does not allow you to update BIOS without a Skylake cpu if you wish to use an i7 7700k

MSI Z270 Tomahawk will support Kaby Lake out of the box

So you need to tell us which CPU are you using

Update it (find the bios update tool on their website)

Why upgrade so early?

If you still decide to upgrade, keep that board and use the 6600k to download the bios update which enables kaby lake comparability.
