Question about delided CPU's

I just picked up a used 4790k and the IHS seems very close to the silicon base. As such I suspect my CPU may have been delided. Does anyone know how much space is typically between those pieces?

They basically make direct contact from the IHS to the PCB, there is only a thin layer of epoxy that use to adhere it into place.

if the black "glue" is missing from the sides of the IHS, it's probably been delidded.

Well, you can't see the actual silicon. The epoxy should be the only thing between the green PCB and silver IHS. If it isn't there, isn't black, or isn't consistent, it's probably been delidded.

I should have said PCB and not silicon, my mistake. The space between seems razor thin and does appear uneven on one of the corners with is slightly raised compared to the rest
