Radeon 6770 ppd for folding?

I might start the folding, i have a basic core 2 duo 2.6ghz(i dunno its number thing i think its 8600). Anyways worth it to use a 6770 or is it pointless.

what about a i7 2600 will that help in anyway. Its only used for editing with is probably every weekend for my fathers photography. The rest of week its doing nothing, it has a gt 610 in it but i can change that quickly(would of used intel hd but needed four monitors).

Yea that would make a large difference.

I think that would get you an extra 10-15k ppd.

Well, I used to run folding on the 1.5GHz atom I had in my home server. Performance was crap, but I did it nevertheless.

7870 xt= 48000 ppd

i3 2120= 3000ppd
