Confused in new build

Hello everyone,

I am Yusuf from India. I currently am using prehistoric build :

Intel Pentium dual core e5700 3 ghz

asus p5g41t-m-lx3 motherboard

6 gb ddr3 1333 ram

nvidia gt 610 2 gb graphics card

14440x990 monitor

to sum it all it runs at max 5fps in current tiles with all low settings.

i am thinking about a new build,

intel pentium g4560

gigabyte b250 motherboard

8 gb ddr4 2400 ram

nvidia gtx 1060 3gb or gtx 1050ti 4gb

is that of for my resolution?

provide guidance, much appreciated.

Thank you.

Based on my local market status, it is updated in most cases. ;)

Not really, the cheaper boards in NA and AU are always old stock that isn't updated, and I'd rather pay the $20 for better quality boards anyway.

idk

OK Guys, first thanks for the quick response. Now i have the storage and 450 w psu and cabinet. SO wont be upgrading those. I am not comfortable with amd too, so want to be on the green team.  so the products to buy are:

g4560

b250 (just to be on the safe side)

8 gb ddr4

graphics card

again please tell me that this rig will be enough to game on my resolution(1440x900), casual gamer here.

It will be enough for your resolution but I really don't understand why you wouldn't go for amd ? if its simply a better gpu for the money - and as much as you told us, you really are on budget

GPU: GTX 1060 6GB

RAM: 16GB HyperX RAM

CPU: R5 3600

Motherboard: ASRock B450 Fatal1ty gaming K4

OS: Win 11 Pro 64-bit

4 gb is better than 1060 3gb - no, im not saying because of vram - but because of freq. and speed its overall a better video card for the money and performance in general

Well, he's not gaming at 1080p so he isn't gonna see the VRAM bottleneck him with the 3GB 1060. However:

4GB 480 == 8GB 480 in everything but VRAM

Whereas 3GB 1060 =/= 6GB 1060. The 3GB is clocked lower and has less CUDA cores, making it around 10% slower than the 480 4GB.

idk

so at my resolution 1060 3gb is enough, right? and the price of gtx 1060 i m getting is 11000 rs in india. Is that a good deal. rx 480 is about 15000

it's a very competent gaming CPU, there's a video with someone running a g4560 and a rx470 (slower than 10603g) and getting 60+ fps on Battlefield 1

idk

but people say that is a dual core and it sucks to have a dc in 2017.

That's true

But it's not just a dual-core, it's a dual-core with hyper threading

meaning while games may not run on a normal dual, it will run on a dual with hyperthreading. GTAV hates dualcores even with HT.

idk

Isn't that exactly what I said ?
" 4 gb is better than 1060 3gb - no, im not saying because of vram - but because of freq. and speed its overall a better video card for the money and performance in general "
^^ this means im not saying rx 480 4 gb is better because it has more vram but because its faster in general - now , I didn't know it was such a price difference in India, becuase here in Croatia 4Gb rx 480 is cheaper than 3gb 1060

GPU: GTX 1060 6GB

RAM: 16GB HyperX RAM

CPU: R5 3600

Motherboard: ASRock B450 Fatal1ty gaming K4

pretty much, just giving a reason for it besides a very general 'freq and speed'

in AU rx 480 4GB is a little more expensive but for the extra performance I get it everytime.

idk
