GTX 1060 - DP to VGA - Resident Evil 7

Guys I've been using Display port to VGA converter to use my GTX 1060 for a VGA monitor.
I can play games like CSGO and my display works fine at 60Hertz, but as soon as I launch Resident Evil 7 my display goes blank and my screen keeps on refreshing [indicating as the connection is being disconnected and then reconnected] but as soon as I close the game the display comes back.
How can I solve it? I know that those connectors won't support beyond 60Hertz. I also deleted the config files containing the video setting details and all. The new config file doesn't have any video setting saved.
Please need a solution.

Have you tried rebooting your system and trying again?

Have you tried reinstalling or updating drivers?

Have you tried reinstalling the game?

Give those a shot

Hmm, Place a limit on the FPS in game to 60 or try running the game in windowed mode instead of full screen.

I don't know how to do that. I mean as soon as the game launches and after the starting logos the display just goes blank.

If you know a method of how to do that without entering the game.

Go into the game data files, Find a file labelled either Config or options or settings, and then edit it. Scroll down the file and find the settings you want to adjust. Every game is different so just take your time to search for it. Some games may also have the settings file in different file formats.

Not quite, it should have the video settings in it. like "display resolution" or "display mode"

I've deleted the old config files. After relaunching the game the new config file is almost blank.
