csgo modes explain

i used to play mainly fps games like battlefield & arma untill i got into r6 siege its a great game. i have never played a cs game but many peoples told me to try it so  tired it as it looks like a similar kind but have no idea where to start.

can someone explain the game please , i went in game and was complete lost by the main menu and modes adn when i went in i had no idea what to do i tried to play got some money and no idea what to buy.

-can someone explain game modes

-do and dont for new player 

-any setting i need to worry about (like how in arma sometime lower setting give you better view to spot others )

Bomb Defuse: Basically there are 2 sides, CT and T, and the goal for the T is to plant a bomb and get the bomb to explode at a site, The job for the CT is to defend the bomb sites to prevent plant. The classic CS:GO mode. 

Hostage Rescue: Terrorist have the spawn near the hostage and the T's have to prevent the CT to capture the hostage and return to their spawn, which wins them the round.

Deathmatch: Basically team deathmatch with respawns.

 

Do: Practice, Don't give up, have the will to learn

Don't: Don't get mad because it is still just a game, there is a learning curve in CS:GO

 

Settings: It doesn't matter if you go 16:9 or 4:3, just do the resolution you are most comfortable, graphical settings it up to you, but you can lower anti-aliasing and any aliasing of any sort. 

 

There are great youtube channels like BananaGaming, LongBarrel, Etc. to watch tutorials.

The "Main" mode would definitely be competitive, which in a sense is like an advanced search and destroy type of mode like in COD. You need to be rank 5 to play this, I believe.

 

Deathmatch is a team deathmatch, players vs players, not really any winner but doesnt really matter.

 

Arms race is like gun game

 

Demolition is like gun game mixed with that advanced search and destroy.

 

Do and dont?-- Dont aim your crosshair at the ground

 

Make sure your audio is just on the standard headphone setting.. they added a new audio feature recently that f'd the sound right up.

DO:

Pull down while shooting

Tap shoot at long range, Burst fire at medium range

Use a rifle whenever you can (M4 and AK are best)

Listen for footsteps

Plant the bomb whenever you can

Throw grenades often

Buy armor 

Buy a defuse kit on CT side

AIM FOR HEADSHOTS! You will almost always win a gunfight if you aim for the head. This can be rather difficult, though.

 

DON'T:

Run and shoot with anything but an SMG or pistol

Aim really far down while spraying (You'll learn from experience)

Yell at people - they'll get worse

Run in recklessly with the bomb - your team will have to get it back

 

Settings won't matter much. Lower settings mean higher frames, and you will want all the frames you can get. CSGO will run on most PC's fine, however.

 

CSGO is a very different shooter from what you're used to. It is exclusively skill-based, and you can have an enormous impact on every game. If you put some effort into learning the basics well, you will be much better off than most beginning players. Good Luck!

Gamemode you should play is competitive, i believe you unlock that if you play till you get to level 2.

Dont run while you are shooting, stand still and aim. The recoil is pretty high and you should compensate for it. Try shooting one magazine to wall and then look how much you have to control for it.

You should use raw mouse input, disable vsync, max shadows, low sensitivity and max brightness.

Casual: losts of team swearing and shit talking

Deathmatch: you kill each other mindlessly and reswpawn after being killed to be killed again

Arms Race: wut is that, noboby plays it. You again kill each other mindlessly but you can not choose weapon. You start off with a crap gun and advance with something so strong and end up with a knife anyway

Competetive: where you hear more swearing but in a "good" way. Though you need to get Rank 2

For cash. It really unique style to balance gameplay in CS series. You gain cash from frags, planting/defusing bomb, saving (talking to) hostage(s), winning rounds. You loose cash from TK or buying stuff. As complete noob, use auto-buy. It will deplete your cash quickly but also give you best/easiest gun for situation. When you get used to buy menu, start buying flash/smoke/frag nades (they are only thing not auto-bought).

 

As really, really occasional CSGO player, I love auto-buy. I used to get something comfortable (like MP5) and just rebuy it few rounds (in CS1.6). Now I would get rifles much faster at hand.

Demolition (Classic Competitive CSGO Mode): 5v5 first to 16 rounds (draw at 15 all) No re-spawns during rounds. You play either CT (Counter Terrorist) or T (Terrorist) and switch sides half way through (15 rounds in). The Terrorists have one bomb on one of their players at the start of the round. The terrorists need to attempt to plant the bomb at one of two bomb sites and once it is planted defend the bomb from being defused. The Counter Terrorists need to stop them planting the bomb, and attempt to defuse the bomb if it has been planted.

 

Some more detail:

Economy: The economy is large part of CSGO. At the start of the game/also at the half way point. You will have $800 to buy equipment guns, armor and grenades. Every time you get a kill in CSGO you get money, depending on what gun you kill them with depends on how much money you get, to spend for the next round. If you stay alive for the round (even if your team loses the round) you keep your equipment. 

You also get money for winning or losing a round. If you keep losing rounds each consecutive round lost will give you more money the next round to spend. It is common in CSGO for teams to have 'Eco rounds' where they do not purchase anything and expect to lose that round so that the next round they can purchase good rifles (Most commonly M4A4/M4A1S for CTs or AK47 for Ts) ,armor and grenades.

 

Once each round starts it is on the terrorists to make the first move as there is a timer they have to plant the bomb by (or kill all the Counter Terrorists) or else they lose the round. Once the bomb is planted the initial timer goes away and it is down to the Counter Terrorists to defuse.

 

There are disadvantages and advantages to both sides. For the Counter Terrorists to defend both bomb sites they need to split there 5 players up which means when the terrorists enter a bomb site the counter terrorists might be fighting 2 V 5 as the counter terrorists on the other site attempt to rotate as fast as possible to get to the site being attacked.

There are of course also advantages to being a defender (Counter Terrorist). You can hold usually one of 2 or 3 angles that it is likely the terrorists are going to come onto the site through and have strong advantages in early gun battles. Meaning it is very common for 2 defenders on a site to get 3 kills before the plant goes down leaving the remaining 3 Counter terrorists in a man advantage situation 2 v 3 a man up to attempt to kill the terrorists and defuse the bomb.

If you as a defender hear the terrorists about to charge a site you can slow them down by using Molotov cocktails or perhaps smoke grenades allowing your players to rotate in time to defend the site.

Watch some cs tutorials and practice. Cs has a lot of skill in it. You could aim at someone point blank range with crosshairs on them, then miss the entire magazine

those are 3 good people that have cs tutorials. Frankie notes an aiming map that I enjoy and use quite often.

Practice put me on the top of my leaderboard the first competitive game I played for the first 6~ rounds. 

 

You can get into adjusting resolutipn, settings mouse sensitivity and whatnot; I'd say just use default for now. After you know a bit of the game start customizing.

 

I play 4:3 black bars(the sides of my screen aren't used and show up black), mediumish to highest settings no mouse acceleration and my own control scheme (wsad are not the movement keys when I play.) I chose my graphics settings because it's easier for me to have the mouse on target than 16:9. Others do it for visibility and whatnot. You'll find what works for you in time. 

 

Aim is 75~% of the game. The other 100% is teamwork. 

 

Good aim can help at lower ranks, but as you progress (assuming you play competitive - not just casual for fun) teamwork and economy become much more important. Watch the war owl talk about economy, and iNotOius (or however you spell his stupid name) has "tutorials" on guns in csgo to be jokes; however a lot of the content is valid and useful. The tec 9 and 57 are really good for eco; ump is strong at medium to close if you need an AK or to save a bit, and most smgs aren't that good. 

 

Also aug and ssg are op but it's a game; they're only salty cuz they died. 

 

Finally, BUY ARMOR AND DONT BUY EVERYTHING EVERY ROUND. Grenades are good but when starting but you don't need to learn them all when beginning. Every now and then try buying one and seeing how to apply it, or look up some grenade strategies online to see what would help.
