let me add more details:

i want it to cover my ear

cancel outside noise as much as possible

have an adjustable volume on it or on the cable

be comfortable for long-term use

:)

If you want the headphones to cancel as much noise from the outside, you typically would be looking at closed back headphones. The advantages of these is that more outside noise is blocked and less sound leaks outside, but the disadvantage is that the soundstage is less. Meaning for games they are less preferred, because it's harder to know if the sound is coming from 10, 20 or 30 meters away in your game.

Its a bit over your price, no in-line volume control, but what a heck of a sound DT770i !

I have the DT 990, so can't comment on the sound of the DT 770, but comfort is just great on them.

If it's for pure gaming only the OP should go for the DT990 like you but the plus of the DT770i is the full compatibility with mobile device and the noise isolation, if you take the bus, subway, or anything, it more polyvalent. Anyhow can't go wrong with Beyerdynamic
