  • I might want to think that many as I did, waited for the technology (manufacturers) to release new products, just to start building that one system to rule them all... but that waiting is always incomplete and there is never a perfect timing (except bomb defuses on movies).

The waiting started years ago... (fade-in to the past)

..SSDs came, i waited for them to be reliable, when they did -> Skylake was putting CPU on the table -> the boom of 4K ->  then the GTXes joined the game -> then NVMe`s -> then Kaby was putting lakes over skies -> then Vega rumours -> then Ryzen rumours -> then ryzen becomes real, then Intel drops prices, then Intel plans to put out new CPU`s..... the waiting continues

I can`t pin to the one point in this lineup when I could start building the system I wanted.

At last I have sorted my priorities, put end to nHours of gaming, multiple monitors and huge custom painted Computer case in my room.

So here:

I just want a hardware that will be quiet[!], power efficient and small. I want to run single 4K TV from it. And I want it to be FD Node 202 case. And might want to run CS:GO and other low demanding games in 4K from time to time couple of hours a month. Binge watch movies/series and youtube. And have a great audio output to my speakers (Edifier Luna w/o fiber).

Previously I picked these parts from the list:

GTX 1060 6GB

16/32gb RAM

6600k i5

Samsung 960 evo 256GB just the space efficiency (storage is a non issue, have had an 500GB HDD for 7 years - can`t fill it over 200GB)

Asus Z170I PRO GAMING Mini ITX

I have limited budget, so I can`t test out all the possible variations just to pick one.

Is this an overkill for the things I plan to do ?

Is the power supply in node 202 450W will suffice (pc.parts.picker.com says that it will) ?

Will any of the processors (i5) be able to output good enough graphics on its own ?

Any suggestions on good on-board audio Motherboards?

Should I keep waiting :D ?

Thank u guys in advance - I need a settlement in this case :)

Rock on!

Its more than enough.

The cpu's graphics won't really do any games at 4k. If you want to run at a lower res it will be fine.

Really doesn't make a difference. Any modern midrange board will be fine.
