Basically spray the polish onto the cloth and wipe the monitor in ever spot. Then get the towel and dry it off. Windex is actually NOT a good solvent for monitor screens. While it may work on some, the chemical is acidic to some of the overlays and membranes, especially on laptops. Windex is meant for mainly All Glass surfaces. If you do must use a chemical, Simple Green is about as harsh as you want to get. Warm water and a very little mild soap, like Dawn, can help. Overall, the best results come from a lightly damp microfiber cloth. Works on almost any display screen. Alternatively, you can use an old soft T-shirt. Many people have used Windex because it was fine for older CRT monitors made of glass. Some manufacturers have made their screens a little more durable to Windex, but many high end ones have not. Posted March 1, 2017 The best thing to do is use filtered water (from a water bottle or fridge) and a microfiber cloth, like one you'd use to clean glasses. If you can't find a microfiber cloth, you can settle for a soft cotton t-shirt, although it has potential to leave super tiny scratches. Just don't use tap water.
