Is 1080p good enough?

Hey guys I currently play on a ps4. I plan to build a pc in April. I just wanted to know whether 1080p will be good enough for gaming. I have never experienced 1440p and I have heard that once I am used to 1440p, 1080p looks bad, which means my ps4 will look bad, which I don't want. I don't care about screen real estate. I will use it only for gaming. So 1080p or 1440p?

Any reply will be appreciated.

What's your budget/country?

 

overall it won't really look any different because 1440p 27" is about the same ppi as 1080p 22/24"

What would like different is 27" 4k, or a 1080p 144hz display

i've used 1440p for a few years now, no issues going back to 1080p (especially since i play on the ps4 quite often). 

 

there's an appreciable difference. the image is sharper and more detailed, and it's a nice middle ground if you can't run 4K.

24" 1080p, 27" 1440p. Either way it will look way better than the shitty PS4.

Nah they're gonna follow up with the the motto of 1 System you need. Xbox One, so the next Xbox will be called "One Xbox" because it's the One Xbox that you need.

Games are still made to look good on 1080p, and probably will be for a long time. Now if you drop to 720p, which isn't really focused on, you'll notice a huge difference. Higher resolution looks better, but that doesn't mean everything less than 4K is obsolete.
