May I ask why you have a Z170 board with a celeron?

Also, what PSU exactly.

No reason to spend that much money on motherboard, unless you plan to upgrade to i7 6700k CPU. In that case I would recoomend you to wait for Ryzen, since you will be able to get 8c/16t for the same amount of money.

But if you are more on a budget, just change motherboard to something cheaper and go for it. I could still recommend you to wait for Ryzen R5 and R3, but it will take another few months before it's released.

He actually built it and it's not starting.

Maybe, but it would be SO much better to get a $100 CPU with a $50 motherboard rather than a $100 Motherboard with a $50 CPU.

He could have gotten a G4560 instead of the Celeron too, which would have been much better.

EDIT: NVM, OP has a 6700K, so he did budget correctly.

I got a celeron in at the moment because I need to update the bios for my 6700k and I don't k ow what psu it is I just know it's corsair and 500w

You don't need to update the BIOS for skylake CPUs

Just pop the 6700K in, and start the system.

Alright.

If you've tried everything here:

than see if it works with the 7600K out of the box. it might acutally POST.

Do any lights on the motherboard turn on?

I've already tried with the 7600k and I get no post also the motherboard lights don't turn on either. I get lights on fans and all fans turn in straight away.

Please try to keep everything to one thread, especially since the original was posted only 34 minutes ago. People live in different time zones and may not always be around to give you assistance, so patience is certainly something that should be cultivated with regards to topics.

I've merged your most recent thread with the original together.

Well if you've switched everything but the motherboard, I would assume it to be the motherboard

I made a second thread because all the other one did was start an argument about my mobo and cpu

That wasn't an argument, it was a tangent. it was a total of about four or five posts discussing the crazy combination of motherboard and CPU you had listed.
