doesn't doing that void the warranty? And are there any guides on how to do this? And where to buy the ips screen from?

warranty

Voids the shit out of it, but fuck it. Jk. If u need warranty, might as well just buy the 4k screen then. As for guides.... It's more like a DIY learn as u go thing.

Knowing 3dsMax, don`t forget RAM. It manages to use a lot of it, when dealing with even average size scenes. I selected MSI Ghost Pro which is twice the budget you mentioned, but hey... I can run my scenes along iRay active shade finally.

The GPU in the Inspiron 7567 is good but I generally don't recommend the model due to its very poor display quality. I could recommend it if you plan to replace the display anyway, but you have other options such as the Eluktronics Clevo N850HK1 which comes with a good display right off the bat.

Side note: If you want 1080p the Eluktronics is good. But if you want 4K (not specifically recommending it but if you happened to already want 4K), I would try to get a deal/discount on the Inspiron 7567 4K. The Inspiron 7567 4K model uses a fantastic true 4K Sharp IGZO display, whereas the 4K model of the Eluktronics uses a PenTile not-true-4K display.

Hey, the MSI Ghost Pro you're talking about is this one? https://www.msi.com/Laptop/GS60-6QE-Ghost-Pro.html

Yes, that one.

I've been looking for more information on it's screen, do you know the colour accuracy of it?

I have 1080p screen, not the 4K. Colour accuracy is ok, but compared to my Dell 2412M it`s not the greatest. Also i have a quite large backlight leak from the top of the screen. Haven`t looked into it much more, because for colour sensitive occasions I use my work gear.

do you think the 4k model probably has a slightly better screen and colour accuracy or do you think it's the same? and if it's the same, would you reccomend the laptop for graphic design anyways?

At the moment of buying, people tended to prefer the 1080p version for some reason. But right now, I probably do not recommend buying it, because there are a lot better products available for that money. This is a slim laptop, which means that it get`s hot and makes a lot of noise. Not to mention that I got to change the MB already (Thankfully went under warranty).

I bought this because I wanted a 970m GPU and it was the only one available within my budget, in Estonia. At the moment I don`t regret buying it, but tomorrow I would buy something else.

The Inspiron 7567 has one of the best 4K screens and one of the worst 1080p screens, for 15.6"

The 4K is true-4K with a high color gamut and contrast.

Sigh, so now I have to consider the 4k option of the worlds most budget friendly gaming laptop....

At this point unless you're comfortable sourcing your own panel, the Dell 7567 should not be in anyone's consideration. the vx15 and legion y520 and n850HK1 do about the same things at the same price while providing more.

I'd definitely buy the 7567 for the insane battery life and mod it afterwards because battery life is important to me, but ultimately it's up to the user.

Just curious...of the 4 which would you choose? 1-2 pros and cons of each?  What would you mod on the 7567?

(current) hp ENVY m6 - AMD A10-4600M APU with Radeon HD Graphics 2.30 GHz

I'm pretty sure when he says mod, he means changing the screen for something better.

Unfortunatly, I really have to go with the MSI one if I want to have a decent gaming laptop because its the only one with a 970m available. Since the 1000 series came out for laptops, all 900 series pretty much disappeared here in portugal :/

900 series have disappeared for a reason. 1000 series GPU-s are a lot faster. :)

Yeh ik but unfortunatly every laptop with a 1000 series GPU either costs too much or has a shit TN panel, not really the best for graphic design :/

Btw, I've been looking to get some info about MSI's True Color Technology. It claims it can give a 100% sRGB color gammut (or atleast near that). Have you tried that with your MSI GS60 Ghost Pro? Idk if its only supported by the 4k model

True Color works with 1080p screen too. App itself is quite buggy and most of the time does not open in my laptop. Haven`t tested with calibrator yet, but I have noted slight blue(ish) tone in sRBG more in the past, as it is common with most laptop screens.
