What can i use for a NH D14 mounting bracket?

Ashiella

Im on the 2011 socket, the cooler didnt come with a mounting bracket for the back of the motherboard and my h100i v2 bracket doesnt work because noctua is special. What else can i use? Ive looked for #6 teenuts and cant find any at local hardware stores to fit. And idea? And would it be safe and okay to use zip ties? If so how do i go about using them

Email Noctua, they will probably send the hardware for free.

The mounting kit is only $8.00 on Amazon as well...  Seems like a better investment that would be able to keep proper pressure more stably on the CPU.

NH-D14 does not have LGA2011 socket mounting hardware in the box.

http://noctua.at/en/nh-d14.html?faq_view=69

In addition, 2011 and 2011-3 sockets often do not need backplate either, the CPU socket itself is pretty tough already.

Are you using the X79 Extreme board listed in your signature?  If so, then you should be able to just screw the mounting bracket into the mounting holes on the socket, unless the board has been modified.;)

I'm not using that board, it's a different one; its one of those super low end cheap-ass ones
