Headphones... Yeah, I can't come up with other titles

CHKR

*Update* I've been browsing some different headphones recently and I've come up with a few (actually a lot of) options,

Corsair - http://www.corsair.com/gaming-headsets-and-speakers

Sennheiser - https://en-us.sennheiser.com/pc-gaming-headset

Razer - https://www.razerzone.com/gaming-audio/razer-kraken-pro-v2

Which do you think I should be getting, tell me about all the pros & cons if you can please. Thx ;)

So, I thinking on getting new headphones for myself. Im currently using BOSE  QC25, which is pretty good, but I've been wanting to get some headphone with 7.1 surround sound for gaming but I can't seem to find good ones, I've only looked at RAZER Man O' War and Kraken 7.1 doesn't seem good for the amount of plastic on it,

ANY Suggestions?

Surround sound in headphones is shitty. Get some open back headphones if you want to be more immersed.

yeah, usually it's better to get stereo headphones with some kind of virtual surround. Can't go wrong with sennheiser or beyerdynamic.

I mean, most $300-$1000 headphones are predominantly plastic, right? In some cases, plastic is the better material to have - In headphones, it's generally a  good choice.

as a reluctant owner of kraken 7.1's, theyre pretty bad as far as sound quality is concerned and i find them to be very fatiguing to wear. the mic is pretty solid though.

if you want to be immersed in sound like no other, open-backed headphones are the way to go. and the general consensus is the best quality for your money are sennheiser HD 6XX which is a massdrop exclusive release of the HD 650. but the sennheiser HD 600's, HD 650 or HD 598's are all excellent for the money with a fantastic response range and soundstage. i personally own a pair of audio-technica ath-ad900x which are absolutely fantastic for my use case but are loose fitting to most people (also a 1-size-fits-all deal) and a very significant lack of bass, so it may not be the best for immersive gaming. Baerdynamic, audio-technica, sennheiser, akg, and HiFiman are great places to start.
id check out massdrop if i were you. You have to know what youre looking for and read the fine print in most cases but sometimes they offer some great deals.
(also if you need the mic, just get a modmic for 40 or 50 bucks, they really are very very good for the money.)

Headphones = Just the cups around your ears
Headset = Has a mic

Do you have a standalone mic? Do you wish for a headset or headphones?

i can highly recommend the Cloud 2 made by HyperX. The sound is really good and the mic is solid enough. Plus it si a really good budget option.

Linus did a review on the first generation. i am using the second generation right now.

Please, for the love of god, stop making multiple posts after each other. Make one freaking post.

OP, don't touch Razer shite with a 6-foot-pole.

Siberia 840 by SteelSeries is comfortable, but I don't wear glasses so take that how you will.

Sennheiser Game Zero or One isn't bad from what I've heard

idk

Well now my reply is gone, and I can't be bothered to type it all up again so...

TL;DR get the sennheiser ones, they make both good headphones and microphones, gaming company headsets sound awfull most of the time compared to proper headphones. The razer ones will break for absolute no reason don't get them.
