Nas under 100 usd

I would like a nas mainly for storing pictures. A lot of pictures. Im not knowledged when it comes to picking out a nas and i have a max budget of 100 usd. If any other questions are needed feel free to ask.

Just the box or the box with drives?

get a cheap ITX board off eBay or amazon, stick it in a cheap ITX case and with a cheap PSU, and get some cheap used hard drives and run them in RAID 1

you can turn a raspberry pi into a NAS by adding a hard drive and configuring some form of network share. it won't perform too great but it's cheap.

Just throwing this out there, Amazon Drive is free with an Amazon Prime account and has no limit to how many images it stores (Google Drive is free but limited to unlimited compressed images or 15GB of uncompressed images).

 

If you can give us an idea of how much data you'll be storing I can provide a better suggestion for a home NAS.

I was going to recommend a Orange Pi Plus since it outperforms the Raspberry Pi, has a 1Gbps port, and onboard SATA.

This, if all you want is store pictures just used Amazon drive.
