I need a PC that will be able to push 4k content to my TV. Basically Netflix and YouTube. That's about it. I will NOT be gaming with this PC whatsoever. Are there any reasonable off the shelf options with HDMI 2.0? Or am I better off building my own setup. If that's the case, any links to guides/videos would be greatly appreciated.

If you want to watch 4K Netflix, you need a PC with either Intel's Kaby Lake or AMD's Ryzen and you need to have Windows 10.

You can thank DRM BS for this.

Thanks for the info! I'm having an issue finding PCs with HDMI 2.0. Is that not really a thing?

It is, on Intel's 200 series motherboards. NVIDIA and AMD have it on their latest graphics cards as well.

Get KabyLake PC with i3 and use the integrated GPU... make sure the motherboard has HDMI 2.0 ... most of them should have it.

They don't. A cursory glance at some 100 series boards show that they're only HDMI 1.4 compliant.

Dont the B250, Z270, H270 feature HDMI 2.0? I though it is a given considering that 4k Netflix requires Kabylake to work on PC in the first place since it is supposed to be 4k stream ready iGPU.

You didn't narrow down the motherboard selection :P

Saying "most motherboards should have it" without a specifier implies just that, most motherboards have HDMI 2.0

That's why I said

"make sure the motherboard has HDMI 2.0"

I know that some of them don't have it I just don't know which as I haven't done my research. It is up to OP to do the research I can only point him towards the right direction.

And by "most motherboards should have it" I meant KabyLake ready motherboards, not Skylake motherboards that work with KabyLake after you update BIOS.

Kabylake was the specifier. Sure you could use a Kabylake CPU in a z170 board, but if you're looking for HDMI 2.0 you wouldn't

If anyone asks you never saw me.

Would something like this work or can someone point me in a different direction? http://www.microcenter.com/product/474800/Aspire_ATC-780A-UR12_Desktop_Computer

Doesn't say if it's HDMI 2.0, fishy. I personally wouldn't use a prebuild it if was given to me. You have no idea what the specifications are of any of the parts, and have no upgrade path.

Pay a little more and you'll have twice the PC building it yourself. You'll also know what you have, and be able to upgrade it in the future.

That's the issue I'm running into. None of the pre-built machines I've seen say HDMI 2.0. Are there any services available that you are aware of that could help me? I know next to nothing about building a PC.

Can you plug Legos together? You can build a PC. Get a good quality Z270 motherboard, they can be had for just over 100 bucks and will offer a upgrade path that will last years. Good quality power supply, 40-60 bucks. Then season to taste with your choice in RAM, Storage, And case. CPU? I would say i5, 7500. But a i3 would do the job.

How do I know if the Z270 has hdm i2.0? For example the ASUS PRIME Z270-A LGA1151 is 1.4. If I can find one with hdmi 2.0 I won't need a dedicated graphics card?
