Overclock 1050 ti?

So, recently I bought a 1050 ti.. Now, I know this card does not have very many knobs to turn when it comes to overclocking, but I still would like to do as much as I can. My GPU model is GV-N105TWF2OC-4GD, and it has a pretty beefy cooler considering that it is a 1050 ti. When I open up MSI afterburner, I can change the power limit up to 125, the temp limit up to 97, the core clock up to +1000, and the memory clock up to +1000. When I looked at the overclocking database on this forum, there were no entries for any 1050 ti. I am very new to GPU overclocking, so does anyone have any suggestions for how I can do this?

As with all overclocking, make small adjustments to the core clock, test, then makes some more adjustments and repeat. Once you start encountering instabilities, back off a bit. 

 

Thanks to GPU Boost, there's not really much to overclocking anymore, at least with GPUs. Setting the power limits higher will generally give you an improvement and the card will manage itself. Doing some manual tuning may get you a little more, but not a whole lot. You really don't need to do anything with recent Nvidia cards, they mostly overclock themselves. 

 

As a note, don't just wack everything to max. Putting +1000 on core and memory won't work.

OCing any graphics card has no mystery, you download msi afterbuner and add +10 to the core clock then leave it playing heaven benchmark for 10 minutes, if it runs all fine you add more 10 and go on until it crash or get artifacts then you reduce to the last good result, once done you do the same with memory clock, save it as profile one and you are done [:

 

Also set Power Limit to max

I usually try +50 on the core and go up by 10 untill it crashes. Your not gonna have a temp problem. Stress test with valley benchmark. After you get a crash bump up the voltage a little to see if it helps maybe like 5. That should get it stabilized then bump up core more. When you get core dialed in then try memory clock.

Ok. I am seeing the other responses are saying +10 at a time, so I might this.

So if I set the power limit higher, I will most likely get better performance? I know I won't get a whole lot of performance overclocking, especially on this card, but I am just curious.

Thanks for the info! However, it doesn't matter since core voltage is greyed out on MSI afterburner. I assume 1050 ti cannot do that.

Hopefully our friend here sure can pass the 100 mark, it is a shame CPUs cant be overclocked this easy anymore.

Is it really that simple for 10 series Nvidia cards?    Just max the power limit and it'll do stuff on its own?

But what exactly do you look for?    Is stuff just going to jump straight from normal to acid trip or may you just start to see a few tiny things that look screwed up if you push the card a little too hard?

The only way to do any harm to the card is by messing with the core voltage, so you just set power limit to the maximum, that will increase how far you can go already keeping safe.

If you pay attention you will notice the artifacts but most of the time what will happen is the card will crash and restart at a lower clock then you need to restart the heaven benchmark and do a lower overclock. One way you can try doing to learn how to see them is by going to nVidia control panel, and set up a custom refresh rate, if you have a 60hz panel you can force it go higher refresh rate, some actually go quite far.

say the limit of yours is 70hz though if you go 72hz it will seem alright but whenever you play something there will huge screen tearing, if you go 75hz+ it will simply get random broken image xD
