Is fallout new vegas and 3 still worth playing?

JTB7

I have played fallout 4 and the dlcs multiple times and love it, I can honestly say it is one of my favorite games.  Is it worth picking up a copy of one of the older games and playing it?  Are they still good?

I did a play through of Fo3 recently but had to mod the living hell out of it cause it felt really meh. It was fun but didnt leave me with anything amazing to remember. Still a fun game to mess around and play through.

They're good games but the older game mechanics might be a little frustrating to players that started FO4.

they're not a shooter like fallout 4 is, they are RPGs.But some might argue they're not even an RPG compared to fallout 1-2.  If you expect fallout 4, you won't get it.

I enjoyed Fallout 3 and it's one of my favorite game memories. I don't know if it still would be.

I also enjoyed Fallout New Vegas, but it wasn't as good as Fallout 3 to me. Still an enjoyable game. Played it a second time in preparation for Fallout 4. Enjoyed that.

I've played Fallout 4 twice now with the first time beating all the endings and the second time getting 75% through or so.

You could try Fallout New Vegas and see how much you like it.

I did New Vegas last year.  It was really good.

I used some mods to improve the look of the game... and probably a few for the UI... and made some stuff for my game:  I built a base using G.E.C.K. (Garden of Eden Creation Kit) and replaced an armor set I liked to match the stats of the set I had.  Little mods just to make it feel like MY game.

Honestly I tried New Vegas, My boyfriend has it on steam and we have shared libraries... I really forced myself to play it because he liked it but honestly its super slow pace even to a rpg made me give up after 4 hours of gameplay... already deleted it and really do not miss it.

I think you might like S.T.A.L.K.E.R though.
