Which earbuds have better durability?

Sennheiser Momentum "In-Ears" or Shure SE215s

Planning on using the earbuds for more than 2 years.

Not at all going to buy replacement parts (obsoleting the removable cables feature of the SE215s).

I'm going to frequently stuff the earbuds in my pant's pocket, consequently pull them out frequently, putting a lot of strain on the cable.

Taking all those things into mind, which is more likely to survive a longer time?

Sennheiser is known for their quality and durability. Since they make so many other great headsets, you can trust them to last a while.

Kinda hard to take that in knowing that a lot of people alleged dealed with broken Momentum "In-Ears" under 3 months.

The shures. Definitely the shures.

That said, if durability is a concern you may as well look at cheaper earphones.

Under $10 you can get the KZ ED7s.

The build quality is excellent.

Wouldn't the locking-mechanism of the cables + the actual driver housing be worn out over time?

I've heard stories about people's SE-215 going kaput but I don't think it's as big of an issue as some people may make it out to be. They do sound a bit neutral though, at least from what I remember. A friend has had my pair for years since I forgot to get them back from him, but he still uses them for when he plays drums.

If you're looking for more of a fun sound the Momentums or something else other than the SE-215 would suit you better.

I use the apple ones. I still have one that I use since 2013 and it has gone through a lot of torture.

I broke part of my shure se425s but it was a serious hit from a case into them, and only where the ear bit attaches broke except for that its sturdy.
