I7 sold out

I was planning to buy a i7 4770 from Cex for £155, but it's now out of stock and due to the way Cex works, I have no idea if there will be another. All haswell or skylake i7s (Due to motherboard availability, haswell is as old as i can go) under £165 are sold out aswell (even the low clock or other strange SKUs). There are no i7s with compatible with new motherboards that i can buy. Should i buy a haswell or skylake i5 for £115? it would be paired with an rx 480 8g or gtx 1060 6gb ?

If you can afford it, they have 6700ks for £285, or even 7700k's for £290.

 

Im pretty sure a couple weeks back they had 6700k's at £210 or so, guess they realised it was way too cheap so hiked the price up lol.

earlier i was gonna buy a new i5 for 165, 165 is my cpu max budget. and the motherboards have to be under 60

Well at the very least if you wait for Ryzen to flood the market it should cause a price drop on i7s so you might not have to wait for a restock, which can take awhile.

4670 or 6400. whichever one's MOBO + CPU is cheaper overall.

haswell has cheaper motherboards, but there are some that are really cheap. how are the i5 4440 and 4430 (around £100)?

you loose some performance, but any i5 from haswell or skylake should be fine with an RX480.

if you want to upgrade your GPU to something else though, you will probably need more performance.

You will be more future proof with an i7 but an i5 gets the job done now.

Well my friend might give me a 980 ti, so id upgrade to a 4770k or 4790k asap
