EVGA 500W1 Best psu for $50CAD?

aSpoink

Looking for a psu for my brothers computer, his specs are:

Athlon x4 860k

8gb ddr3

1tb hdd

Zotac 660ti

ASUS A88XM plus motherboard

Right now he's using a Seasonic 350w I had in a pre-built. 350w is pretty sketchy and im using molex adapters to power the gpu so he needs a new one. I found the EVGA 500 W1 and it seems to be the best priced one from a reputable brand. It also has free shipping which is nice. There's also the CX450M, but it's more than the EVGA one. My question at this point is if the EVGA psu I linked seems to be the best option for $50CAD. Any help is appreciated.

That EVGA, although not very good, will power a 660ti.

I mean it is a Seasonic PSU so it's not total garbage, right?

unfortunately not, and however much i dislke the poor quality of the green CX'es, its better than some of the garbage i tend to deal with. i've seen the worst of "80+ chinesium", and a lot of those seem to run long-term fine enough, if you take the unmistaken smell of slight burn with it :P

Is there any difference in quality between the CX500 and the EVGA 500b?

cx500 performs a little bit better but has a lower temperature rating

no big difference in quality
