Budget (including currency): €2500

Country: Netherlands

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Adobe Photoshop + Lightroom, SIRIL Astro, Video Editing, Gaming 1440p (not newest most demanding games).

Other details
I’m not specifically upgrading from anything, this is an addition to my MacBook Pro which is used for work and music production (Logic Pro).

For the build, I’d like to play games at 1440p at minimum 60 fps, and preferably 120+. For creative workflows good responsiveness and export times from Photoshop/Lightroom would be nice to have (but MacBook is very very optimized for those already).

I’ll start to buy parts in the coming weeks for this build.

In case it was missed above, I’m located in the Netherlands, and plan to buy the parts from Megekko (local online retailer) as I saw their prices are usually the lowest.

Parts List:

Case: Fractal Torrent Compact Black RGB TG

CPU: Ryzen 7 7800x3d

GPU: Asus ProArt RTX 4070 ti Super

Mobo: Asus TUF X670E-Plus Wifi

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x16gb RGB 6000MHz

PSU: Fractal Ion2+ Platinum

SSD: Samsung 990 Pro 2tb

CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U12A chromax.black

Case Fans: 1x Noctua NF-A12x25 PWM, 2x NF-A14 PWM

Peripherals & accessories:

Keyboard: Corsair K65 Plus Wiress

Mouse: not sure yet

Vertical GPU Mount: Fractal Flex 2 (PCIE 4.0)

Display: already have ASUS ROG 27in OLED 240hz

Question is, do my parts fit well together for 1440p gaming, and productivity / creative workflows? I am set on AMD CPU as I don’t want a more power hungry Intel that costs more and runs hotter (or is last-gen).

For aesthetics reasons I’d like to vertically mount the GPU in the case. Fractal says the riser (flex 2) will fit in the torrent compact, and my GPU is a smaller sized 4070ti Super (300mm length & 120mm width & 50 thickness). I wonder though if the Noctua cooler will get in the way at the top, and what kind of space I’m left with underneath the GPU as the torrent has bottom mounted intakes (as well as 2x front 180mm). I’ve seen some builds that entirely skipped bottom fans and had great thermals with air cooling in this case. If I can get good thermals without bottom fans and the NH-U12A cooler doesn’t bother the GPU, I’d be very happy. But I’d like to measure twice and buy/build once, so here am I asking for this advice.

Thanks in advance!

Edit: Thanks for pointing out my earlier typo for RAM, indeed 2x16gb is what I'm going for, not 2x26gb.

RAM: im assuming you mean 2x16gb ram? Also if youre getting 6000MHz, make sure its CL30

CPU cooler: Get a phantom spirit, better performing and cheaper to boot

Motherboard, do you need an X670E? if you dont, or if you dont know, chances are a B650 will be much cheaper and be plenty for you anyway

SSDs: 990pros are a very expensive step up in price for a small step up in performance over other forms of NVMe storage

By my calculations, it ends up around €400 cheaper and PCPP picks the lowest price for products which seems to all be amazon handily enough

Id also advise to not take too long to buy everything as pc components' pricing can be volatile at times, constantly changing, so the ideal build this week/month might be different next week/month due to the fluctuations

Everything you do have there seems good, but if you have some extra money I advise you get a regular 4080 as it is better than the 4070 super ti. I do understand if you run out of budget as it is almost 200 more to get a regular 4080 compared to a 4070 ti super

With your 2500 budget you can easy affort a 4080 super. the one I picked showed to fit in your case on pcpartpicker
with your keyboard and gpu mount included you finish at 2475 euros
