Yep they are still the go to for a lot of multi display stuff that doesn't require high end graphics rendering ie gaming. They are still relevant for high end video display though.

Hmm, still something quite unusual. Unless you are Linus. I have 4 monitors, and that's pushing my desk space, and I have two desks!

I'm not going to question his needs I just know he wants 6 monitors on a monitor stand and needs a computer that can handle those, and to make things even harder he just mentioned something about recording and I'm probably going to have to retake my previous game plan

Honestly look into Matrox if that is case, their cards run from $250-$900+ USD depending on the number of displays and graphics load needed.
