Looking to update graphics card?

So I was wondering if I could only get a new graphics card and get better performance.

 

Current Specs:

AMD Athlon 5350
2GB Asus Radeon R7 240
Gigabyte GA-AM1M-S2H
4GB Crucial Ballistix Sport
1TB Seagate Barracuda
Rosewill FBM-01 (Without power supply)

EVGA 500w power supply

 

I would prefer to have one that can connect to a vga monitor, but I can get an adapter if needed

Monitor CPU and GPU performance in MSI Afterburner, if your CPU is at 100% all the time, don't bother upgrading your GPU.

My CPU is a newer Athlon, is 100% all the time in games and I'm barely getting 30fps on Medium 1080p Skyrim. If I were you, I would save my money and not just get a GPU upgrade.

 

Or try to score some OEM Dell/HP machine with an i5 and drop your R7 240 in it.
