G3930 for gaming?

Last year, everyone is recommending the G4400 for budget gaming, but with the G4560 now out and priced almost the same as the skylake counterpart, it doesnt make any sense to buy the G4400 right now. The Kaby Lake G3930 however, is cheaper than the G4400 with almost the same performance. So is the G3930 the new G4400?

G4400 is pentium

G3930 is celeron

You would be better off picking up an fx 4xxx or 6xxx and a 78lmt.

Sadly no, Celeron also has a lower clock speed too

Some games don't even run on either processor, just invest the extra money in a G4560 because it's significantly better.

But the G3930 is only 41$ compared to Fx 4xxx at 80$... Plus you could always upgrade to G4560 or even an i5 in the future! P:)

and the G4560 is $62. That extra $21 is worth it just for the hyperthreaded cores and for games to actually run.

What if you only brought enough money, and your parents only allowed you to buy a super cheap processor? LIKE ME ! I dont have the G3930 btw, I have G4400... Im so poor! HELP ME!  the G4560 barely made my budget

celerons and pentiums (especially celerons) are budget and/or low power solutions, if you buy one of them, you buy them taking in mind you're buying a fairly limited product.

Ok guys, so heres the thing. I was already planning on what Im gonna buy before we buy the parts the next day. I saw 45$ DDR3board that supports 1151 and pairing it with G4560 which is only 4$ more expensive than the G4400 which is nice. When we finally went to the shops, they wont sell the G4560 unless I bundle it with a 65$ ddr4 board.

So I ended up buying the G4400 and the 45$ dollar board with 8gb ddr3 1333 I still havent bought gpu tho, will gtx 1050 be a good upgrade at high settings?

You already bought the G4400, motherboard, AND DDR3 RAM.

You can't really change that now, can you?

 

Compared to the G4400 and G4560, the Celeron G3930 is:

• Clocked lower, coming in at 2.9 GHz -- you won't be able to overclock it, and has no Turbo Boost feature
• 2-core, 2-thread CPU versus 2-core 4-thread on the G4560
• 2MB of Cache versus 3MB on both the G4400 and G4560
• Built graphics is a Intel HD 510 versus Intel  HD 610 on the G4400 and G4560

The Celeron G3930 is significantly weaker....but it's your choice.

 

If you find a RX-460 for quite a bit cheaper than the GTX 1050 you are looking at, then that is another option.

Plus, the GTX 1050 has 2GB of VRAM versus 4GB on the RX-460.

Do you think I should sell my G4400 and buy G4560 or just keep it for now?
