Yes, it has no power connectors. What PSU are you/will you be running? I would save up for an RX 470 or 480 (480 is the only one that isn't overpriced somewhat)

Hi everyone, just a quick question. Will I be able to run the ASUS ROG Strix 4GB RX 460 via power supply from motherboard? Link to product below:

http://www.ncix.com/detail/asus-radeon-rx-460-rog-a2-134299.htm

Sorry I'm new to graphics cards and all.

So from what I've read, the card draws all it's power from the PCIe slot, but ASUS went and stuck a 6-pin on it anyway as insurance. You can get other versions of the 460 that are PCIe powered only.

Not so, ASUS added a 6 pin for overclocking headroom.

That's weird, ASUS's website says "0x6-pin"

Yeah I think someone at ASUS messed up a little there.

I have a 470 8GB (the loud, hot Sapphire one) and it's awesome. But you probably won't need to 8GB, although it is slightly faster memory than the 4GB for gaming, I use mine for 3d modelling so it's useful. If you can, I'd check the price of 480's as well, they may be quite similar.

I'm thinking about this one, MSI 8gb

http://www.ncix.com/detail/msi-radeon-rx-470-gaming-8f-134473.htm?promoid=1382

Seems like the 480s are another $50 on top of the 470s.

May as well then. Aside from probably not needing all the memory, the 470 performs really well at 1080p (especially overclocked) and even at 1080p ultrawide.
