Personally I'd recommend a WD Blue for your 1TB drive. Also I'd look at a better PSU (EVGA G2 perhaps?)

Bragging rights will be non-existent when people find out youre using a GTX 1080 to play on 1080p lol

Not that PSU, not that cooler

Everything else is fine :)

PSU suggestions:

Anything seasonic

Anything XFX (but the XT line up)

Corsair RMi, RMx, HXi, AX, AXi

EVGA GS, GQ, G2, G3, PS, P2, T2, B2

Cooler suggestions:

Air coolers: Gammax 300, Cryorig h7, Bequiet coolers, noctua coolers

AIO coolers: anything that's 240mm preferably

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

If you're gaming at 1080p I would get a 1070, the extra coin isn't worth the difference in performance unless you REALLY need it. (In my opinion) Use some of that extra money for a better PSU or larger SSD! :D

Corsair Hydro SeriesTM H100i V2 Extreme Performance 240MM

this do for cooling? Will this fit in the case?

Well your case supports a dual 120mm (AKA 240mm) rad at the front so...yeah, it will fit.

The GTX 1080 isn't necessarily overkill for 1080p gaming.  Go for it if you know you need it.

I bought the 980ti for 1080p gaming and got similar criticism but I know what I needed it for.

I7-7700k@5.1ghz + 1080ti @ 2050mhz + 32gbs Ram + 2TB SSD = CSGO

i7-6700k@4.9ghz + 980ti @ 1501mhz + 16gbs Ram + 1 TB SSD = Backup

i7-3770k@4.8ghz + 680 4gb + 32gbs Ram + 500gb SSD = Retired/Office work
