Time For New Thermal Paste ?

Guys, my i7 4790s is sitting at like 50c at idle, is it time for new paste ? 

 

case is corsair carbide spec-03 with plenty of fans.

Home PC:

CPU: i7 4790s ~ Motherboard: Asus B85M-E ~ RAM: 32GB Ballistix Sport DDR3 1666 ~ GPU: Sapphire R9 390 Nitro ~ Case: Corsair Carbide Spec-03 ~ Storage: Kingston Predator 240GB   PCIE M.2 Boot, 2TB HDD, 3x 480GB SATA SSD's in RAID 0 ~ PSU:    Corsair CX600
Display(s): Asus PB287Q , Generic Samsung 1080p 22" ~ Cooling: Arctic T3 Air Cooler, All case fans replaced with Noctua NF-B9 Redux's ~ Keyboard: Logitech G810 Orion ~ Mouse: Cheap Microsoft Wired (i like it) ~ Sound: Radial Pro USB DAC into 250w Powered Speakers ~ Operating System: Windows 10 Enterprise x64

CPU: Intel Xeon E3 1275 v3 ~ Motherboard: Asrock E3C226D2I ~ RAM: 16GB DDR3 ~ GPU: GTX 460 ~ Case: Silverstone SG05 ~ Storage: 512GB SATA SSD ~ Displays: 3x1080p 24" mix and matched Dell monitors plus a 10" 1080p lilliput monitor above ~ Operating System: Windows 10 Enterprise x64

I would say 50C is OK for a fan cooling. If you had watercooling then you might want to check is out. Mine is also about 54C at idle.

Unfortunately idle temps doesn't really say anything...what are the load temps?

It never hurts to replace your thermal paste, and there are worse ways to spend half an hour, so I'd just go for it...

load temps are still pretty reasonable, maintains 75c at 100% load with full boost at 3.6ghz consistently, it's not that im curious about though, im just sure i remember a time when it idled at 40. and it's bloody cold in the UK right now so 50 seems a bit high to me. ill just ignore it and change paste when it idles at 60 lol. cheers guys

Maybe due to it being so damn cold, you have you heater on which is making your room warmer than it is in the summer?

I mean spring and Autumn is the time where I get the best temps while winter is the highest temps :P

Linus did do a video where he stuck a PC in the fridge and it did not keep the PC cool so the weather should not be a factor....espcially since a PC is normally inside where its warm.

You could just replace the thermal paste anyway, it's a satisfying thing to do.
