What power supply should I get?

FroHD
Go to solution Solved by FroHD,

Great, Thanks guys.

Please tell us your build so we can carefully recommend what's best for your system.

There's no use telling people to get 800W of SuperFlower Leadex Gold for a pentium/rx 460 build.

Would help to know the system specs, budget, currency... Any information would help, really.

I am currently trying to formulate a build and I am using US Dollars.

Generally speaking, EVGA G2/G3/GQ 550w is about the go to brand for most non sli/crossfire builds. Corsair HX/AX/RM are also pretty solid along with most seasonic/enermax

Well, I'd recommend having a look at the PSU tier list we have here on the forum. Anything in tier 3 and up is good and tier 4 is really the lowest you should go.

PSU is what you should care last, you need to make a build fisrt to see what components in there then we can tell you what PSU and how many wattage you will need

All of those are modular PSUs (EVGA GQ is semi-modular though)

Thanks!

I can wholeheartedly, beyond any shadow of a doubt, recommend an EVGA 1600T2.

Some TIER 5 is ok for extreme budget build. I had a rev 2 CX 500 pairing an i5 4460 and a RX 480 4gb for a week or so, it's not a good way of telling how good it is but I eventually swap out for my old Delta PSU

We don't know what his build looks like, maybe he is using a low wattage i3 with no dedicated gpu

Cool I can help you with that, how much are you spending and what are you doing with that build? Need a monitor, peripherals or OS?

the seasonic s12ii 430/520 will do fine if you can spend the money. seasonic ssp-300st if you need a cheaper psu and don't intend to upgrade soon.

Well an EVGA GS/G2/GQ/G3/B2 would work well for you if you've got a little extra cash on hand for that but for your system a Corsair CX450M would work fine.
