I made a partition on my main drive because I don't need that much space on it and tried to mount it to a folder on my second drive. Apparently my partition is not in fstab or something of that nature I looked in that file and, what do you know it's not there. I tried to add it and it broke my computer. What am I doing wrong?

We need way more details.  What do you mean by broke my computer. Screen shot of lsblk please.

I agree, run "lsblk" on the terminal so we know what the situation is like... Also please show what you wrote in fstab

i don't think the ubuntu installer has a repair option but check that out it might

also next time you want to partition your drive turn the system off and use Gparted:

http://gparted.org/

every person i know has either used it or heard of it.

at my work, we have a network live disk of it on out servers so we all can use it!

No my computer is fine now I just can't mount the drive is the problem. I did use gparted initially but it wouldent mount my partition so I tried using terminal to mount my partition and it gave me the error /dev/sda4 does not exist in fstab

then either the partition is corrupted or your drive is dead

is it making any strange noises?

is it getting active airflow from a fan?

etc....

if the partition is corrupted then recovery tools can repair or restore the partition

https://www.linux.com/learn/how-fix-mangled-partition-table-linux

follow this, it should fix your probelm

just follow the steps...
