700 american dollars damn I guess if it is what it is the Black Ghz edition is Uber on drugs&celeries. I guess Titan gets to be destroyed by the 780 Ti Eraser. Watercooled GPU wars and now underway.

780ti must be amazing at overclocking if the EVGA SC is already at 980MHz and 1046MHz boost clock!

Yup. I'd be happy to pay 700 dollars less if possible that extra vram sitting on the titan which I had a talk with Linus about saying if the GK110 core could use all the 6gbs of vram. To be honest AMD really need another marketing/technology strategy to really compete now. They're not neck and neck.

The card performs very well, but the price it comes in for the extra 10-20% performance is unattractive.

That massive memory bandwidth really makes the 290X the card of the future for higher resolution gaming.

 

I'm not at all impressed with the 780Ti. Nvidia did what was expected of them. They unlocked all CUDA cores on the GK110, and clocked the memory faster. Sure, they have the fastest single GPU crown back at non-4K resolutions, but for $700, one could buy two 290's and crush the 780Ti.

 

I'd only go for Nvidia if I were getting a G-Sync monitor. Otherwise, the price-to-performance of the R9 series is just unmatched.

 

EDIT: Of course I didn't mean the 290X is more future-proof. Maxwell (and maybe the next gen AMD cards) will be out before 4K gets cheap enough, and they will almost certainly be better at 4K than the 290X. But the 290X is still the card for high resolution gaming today.
