Im about to attempt my first custom water cooling loop alongside my ultimate pc build. Im uncertain however on the suitability and compatibility with some of the parta ive chosen.

Here are a list of my build:

I7 5960X (Waiting on a J batch listing on eBay to pop up)

ASUS X99-E-WS

Corsair Dominator platinum 16GB

(4X4GB) DDR4 RAM

Inno Chill 3d GTX 1080 FE

Corsair AX1500i

Soundblaster ZXR

Elgato HD 60 PRO

512GB SM 951 ( for Boot drive) and 256GB SM951 (for games) with PCIE Expansion card for the 256GB M.2 SSD

WD Black 6TB HDD for recording gameplay

Seagate Firecuda Pro 2TB SSHD for storing games

(Planning on buying a Samsung 1TB 850 PRO SSD for games and a 512GB 850 PRO for programmes with my next paycheque)

So this is my plan for the water cooling build.

Im going to be going all out, and by that I mean Hardline copper Piping for the tubing, with 3X 480mm rads and possibly a 200mm for the most OTT loop ever.

The parts i have are a follow.

2X 480mm rads (bought used off ebay, i think ones an EK 480 and the others and Nexxos maybe?)

Bidding on another 480mm Nexxos rad too atm to make up the 3rd. Should hopefully win it.

1x Phobya G-Silent 18 700rpm (180mm) fan

12x Corsair SP120L fans (Great static pressure but LOOOOUUUDDDDD ASF!)

Planning to buy.

1X Phobya Xtreme 200 V.2 to be mounted on the front of the Core X9 however im uncertain if its able to be mounted because of the dimensions/size/weight.

1x EK Xtop Dual D5 Pump

1x Aqualis Pro 450ml resevoir

1x EK Supremacy Evo Pro 2011 socket CPU Block

1x EK FC1080 GTX gpu block

16mm copper piping (they dont state ID?)

https://www.stevensonplumbing.co.uk/copper-pipe.html

Now my first concern is that EK state the EK XTOP DUAL D5 Pump is only compatible with the EK Res X3 lite, and this concerns me as I really wanted a larger/unique reservoir like the XSPC Photon or this Aqualis pro.

Secondly ive heard some people have had difficulty mounting the Supremacy Evo Pro to the X99-E-WS.

Thirdly are there any potential problems with mixing the various components/blocks with the copper piping that I intend to use, as I'd like to go for a black and copper build if at all possible with chrome/copper fittings where possible like on the GPU block.

Any suggestions for any better parts to make this loop one of a kind would be appreciated.

Oh and id like to stick to G1/4 fittings/compatible components if possible.

its an fe card, so water blocks are easy for it, cpu blocks are also easy and assuming your case isn't stupid rad, res and pump placement wont be an issue. So whats the problem?

If your talking about this pump unit it has a G1/4" inlet and outlet so you can out any reservoir and pump configuration.

As for different metals, copper, brass and nickel are all very compatible inside of a single loop, just make sure to not use any silver kill coils if you plan to have anything nickel plated inside the loop.

Inner diameter doesn't matter with hard tubing. Just make sure the fittings are for 16mm if you are using 16mm tubing.

Where inner diameter matters is with soft tubing where you need to fit the tubing on barbs.

Well I guess that rules out the EK Supremacy Evo Elite block as thats a full nickel cpu block.

I'll probably opt for the EK Supremacy Evo full copper cpu block, should go nice with the shiny Copper pipes and fittings once ive ordered them.

It just depends on the coolant you use, for nickel if you have a compatible biocide like petra (clear) PT nuke or a premix it's not a problem.
