So with my new build i have encountered a problem (doesn't have it yet, just planning on buying it). I checked on pcpartpicker if it was compatible, and it says that there is some problems. The motherboard (ASUS ROG strix z270f) doesn't have any USB 3.0 headers, and the case (NZXT s340) has USB 3.0 front panels. Should i switch out the motherboard, since i already bought the case?

I would recommend choosing another motherboard if you want to use USB 3.0 which i highly recommend.

But when installing an os via USB i would say do it via an USB 2.0 port for compatibility.

That motherboard has usb 3.0?

From what i can see on spec sheet, the motherboard does not have on board USB 3.0 headers, which is meant for connecting front panel USB 3.0 (In front of the case) up to.

Maybe actually look at the motherboard?

I can't be the only one who sees the header right? :P

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

No, i see it too, and i did before i wrote that text. But i don't think it has support of USB 3.0. Though i'm going to find out now.

I highly doubt a board that new and of that quality wouldn't have any USB 3.0 headers, check again on the board like @Mr.Meerkat suggested.

EDIT: I just checked and it has what appears to be a USB 3.0 header under the lock for the bottom PCIE slot in the pictures.

Well that header is only used for USB 3.0 connectors and even the text under it says "USB3" :P

That is when it becomes even stranger, depending on where you look, it says something different, i found somewhere that says it has USB 3.1 header, and that would explain why pcpp would say it doesn't have 3.0 header. Though from what i can see after looking closer it should support 3.0, and it would be weird if it didn't. But i don't know what pcpp is doing.

I have now found out, it does have a 3.0 header, and you will be completely fine with that motherboard, the source i trust : https://www.kitguru.net/components/motherboard/luke-hill/asus-rog-strix-z270f-gaming-motherboard-review/3/

USB is BW compatible so even if it was a 3.1 header, if it has the same connector, it should still work :P

I only said that pcpp might take the motherboard as not to have a 3.0 header because it's a 3.1 header. Just a little mistake by pcpp if that is the case.
