Should I upgrade to a 4th gen i5?

I have the option to get an i5 4460, with a mobo. I just wanted to know if instead I should get an i5 6660 and save up a little more money for the DDR4?

Upgrading from my FX-8350 btw.

IMO not worth investing in Skylake, i would try to get an unlocked chip though.

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Get the Haswell if its alot cheaper. If not, then maybe a the Skylake. You wont notice much a perfomance gain from Haswell to Skylake/Kaby Lake.

You could wait it out for AMD but its gonna take a while :)

IMHO, 4460 + Mobo.
