pardon my CPU ignorance but I have 2 Broadwell questions for the masses

1. What is the Broadwell i5 between Haswell 4690k and Skylake 6600k or is there not one?

2. Does Broadwell have special power requirements like Haswell?

considering upgrading to a unlocked Broadwell from Core2Quad 9400 as all I would need is the CPU and MOBO. Thank for any help!

Broadwell's desktop CPUs are, imo, pointless and poor purchasing decisions. They're overpriced glorified APUs. You'd be much better off buying a 4690K.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

So does that mean all chips after haswell need haswell supported PSU or are all mobos set up to manage the power

all cpu's after hasswell need it, assuimng a low power idle. But they all basically support it.
