so create instillation media on a flashdrive, back up the important files then wipe the ssd

Not sure I understand then, your original question was how to remove Windows from the SSD ... so how is having Windows on it a problem?

 

If you want to clear your SSD and remove Windows, easiest and fastest way is to format.

ok let me explain. so i have windows 10 on my 250gb ssd and i want to erase that ssd completely so i wondered if i connect my other 120gb ssd to the pc with windows 10 too. will i be able to erase everything with the computer manager from my 120gb ssd?

Yes, but are you re-using the SSD you will be formatting in that new build you mentioned?

 

If so, you're complicating things, when you're ready to install Windows, you can format through the install process.

OOOoooh so if i try to install windows on the 250 ssd will the ssd format by itself? man i have never done this before so sorry if you are having a hard time here :/

Lol don't worry, that's what the forum is for :)

 

There's a well written guide on HowToGeek, basically when installing Windows, select "custom install" and from there you'll see the hard drive and you'll be able to format it :)
