If it's refurb, it probably was returned because of this issue. I would check that all the cables are plugged in well, check temps, and contact Corsair if everything else doesn't fix the problem.

Also if you happen to have a spare PSU around or if you can borrow from someone you know to see if it is the power supply and not for example a motherboard issue

If your computer RANDOMLY turns off it is likely not an issue related to PSU, rather something with motherboard or another system component. If PSU isn't enough, it will shut down abruptly when put under heavy load.

Refurbished Corsair PSUs are refurbished in-house so I doubt OP was sold a defective PSU.

As @Aniallationsaid, PSU failures are often the culprit when the system shuts down under stress when the PSU is suddenly no longer capable of providing the load the system needs, which it may have been capable of at one point.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Word of advice: don't buy refurbished PSU's..

Either way, troubleshoot to see if you can fix the issue. More than likely if your system is shutting down then it is indeed failing, I had the same on one of my old PSU's. I'd RMA it, assuming you haven't already voided your warranty. Corsair is great about replacing PSUs
