Samsung 55" 120 Hz vs Samsung 55" 240 Hz

I'm in the market for a new TV for the man cave. Wanted a nice panel for gaming and movies. I was looking at the Samsung 4K HDR models and am having trouble deciding between the 120 Hz model and the 240 Hz model. The difference in price is currently $ 1,199.99 and $ 999.99. Just wanted some advice, regarding if the 240Hz model would be worth the extra $200.

Neither are actually 120Hz or 240Hz, both are going to be 60Hz maximum. They advertise 120/240Hz because they use post processing and backlight strobing, neither of which actually looks like 120/240Hz. 

 

I would personally go for the UN55KS8500FXZA. In terms of design, it looks much better to me, and for such a large purchase anyway, the extra $200 is not that much. It is also in a higher tier than the UN55KU7500FXZA according to Samsung's ratings, though I can't say much about the picture quality differences as I haven't used either of them myself.

They look much worse than a normal 60hz or an actual 120hz. I will say though almost all live TV or prerecorded stuff like SNL, football games, and stuff like game shows are shot in 120FPS or higher. When they upload it raw to youtube it is 60FPS but they shoot in 120. So a true 120hz TV and if they actually sent it over the cable in 120FPS then it would look great

Just keeping this here as a Unfortunately, neither of those will do above 60Hz since the HDMI standard doesn't support higher bandwidth than 2160@60. I would go with the 120Hz, though.

Considering this isn't actual 240Hz but rather have some post-processing done, I would buy the 120Hz, there won't be a big difference (already isn't a big difference between real 120 and 240, imo).
