Is the Corsair CX 430w 80 PLUS Bronze a good PSU? I heard the Corsair VS PSU's weren't too great. Thanks!

A friend of mine who uses the PS says it's good. He had it 24/7 use for 11 months, only times he had the PC off was when the power went out. It outlasted a hyper 212 evo aswell.

according to this list, cx 430 is on tier 4-5 which means thats average-not worth/price psu... My recommendation is to get cx 450m which is tier 3 and for its price/components quality is pretty nice if you're looking corsair psu

Tier 4

  • Corsair - Old CXM "Green unit" variants, Rev. 3 "Green unit" variants

Tier 5

  • Corsair - Rev. 2 CX "Green unit" variants

About VS models, they are on tier 6 so they are kinda "trash"

Tier 6

  • Corsair - VS

@STRMfrmXMN and @Energycore knows very well about these things

Remember to quote me (or someone else), otherwise we won't going to recieve your answers...

The newer CX450M is a much better choice.

It's a "meh". I would only choose it for someone if there wasn't another good option for around the same

Pretty much. Depending on where you live, you can also find Fractal Design Integra M, Seasonic S12II (or ECO), or XFX TS / Proseries

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here
