Trump's Early Statements Indicate He'll Be a Tech Industry Ally

You_are_a_cunt

I feel like we need reminder that this is about the tech industry specifically... Bernie, gun control, and whatever else is going on isn't really the topic here.

I "ignored" those countries because I don't live there and I don't have a right to say anything about them, especially in that sense - I don't know the first thing about living there.

One Wikipedia article isn't going to tell me everything about an ideology. If I truly have my words mixed up then I apologize to anyone who I apparently offended since I seem to have committed a sinful act of getting two extreme ideologies mixed up.

I have read through and studied articles about Marxism, Liberalism, and so on in college, though it was not my peak interest so I didn't retain every piece of wording in what I read.

My whole point was Bernie would be worse than having Clinton in my opinion.

I work at a small business. I did not say the entire industry would disappear, I said the business would go under. Bernie would like to tax the hell out of businesses that bring in a certain amount of revenue and we'd be right in his crosshairs just like a lot of other businesses. Because of that, I and many others who work there would not be able to keep their jobs and the place would likely go out of business within a year. It may be an extreme example; it could take longer or they may not go under at all. Just from what I understand about Bernie, it could happen, so my preference lies in Trump or any Republican who opposes raising taxes on businesses and the "evil 1-2%'ers" that make the market go round.

Bernie is evil even though you just said that you're a small business and he wants to tax the hell out of the evil 1-2%ers?

Businesses that bring in a certain amount of revenue are put in the same corporate tax bracket as the "evil 1-2%ers" from my understanding. It's absurd the amount of money that they have to pay.

So what kind of laws would you like to see put in place to help cull mass shootings? On another note, I also don't remember Trump saying anything about gun laws he would like to enact.

well we have  republican majority now, I expect some gun laws.

And the answer to that is there is no answer. All guns are deadly, and people that are set to murder others are not going to follow those laws anyway. They are going to get their hands on guns, legal or not. Outlaw guns tomorrow, and there's still more guns than people out there. Same with magazines.

It is an issue of access to guns, and there's no clear way to solve that. What type makes no difference.

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

I want to have cheaper internet like a lot of other countries, but I don't want to lose net neutrality. Is there a way to remove our ISP monopolies while keeping net neutrality?

Nah, I don't care what political experience they have - I care for what they say and do. Both lied through their teeth to stack up votes from those who don't know any better, both take sides with the sole goal of keeping their chair without any regard for coherence, both are only there to protect their own interest. Berlusconi & friends are responsible for a downright horrible school reform, an incostitutional electoral law, near bankruptcy of the country and the diffusion of ignorance and hate in the population. He also personally has ties to the mafia (which has been indirectly proven but he has never been tried for it) and has evaded over 40 million € in taxes.

Of course he could have been worse, but let's not tell ourselves he was good or even average.

meh i believe 96% of people want to be told lies, so to get their votes you have to lie, every politician lies, if they were to say  the truth noone would vote for them haha, it's sad but true

Questions like this are why I get confused as to why some people think corporations have their best interests at heart and not their own pockets. The reasons ISPs have monopolies which leads to having to fight about net neutraility in the 1st place, is because they have lobbyists and have bought out members of government to make it hard for any upcoming companies to compete. This is just an example of the kinds of mental gymnastics they employ.

The only way anything is going to change is if people become more politically involved and hold flames to the feet of their elected officials. We all know that's not going to happen. Not the mention the plethora of people who think the Citizen's United ruling was a good thing for our democracy.

Jeffrey Tucker through FEE had an interesting take on the status of possibilities to come.

https://fee.org/articles/the-split-personality-of-the-trump-presidency/

Basically while Trump himself, and some of his advisers, have bombastic or questionable public stances a lot of those who are likely to be tapped for specific posts are likely to defer to the people rather than the state, and apply any influence towards a freer and more open system rather than building up more power in the hands of the state and its bureaucrats.

Only because if you tell the truth you can't make promises that sound quite as good as the bs ones. The public doesn't WANT to be lied to, however they will believe a lie very easily if it fits their current ideals or gives them reason to hope into something better than what they have.

His Entire Cabinet is his donors, he has one goal, make money for himself, people who gave him the most money are now in control. Those people are going to gut the FCC just like they are going to gut Education, they already deleted everything regarding climate change from the White House website.

Hopefully the internet in general can be pushy enough to keep ISP's and the US government (though really it's just ISP's and money) from taking away net neutrality.

If not, well... We'll know definitively that the government doesn't even glance at what people actually want. We all know that it's just money at this point, but net neutrality is such a unanimously supported and important issue that it would be a whole other level of audacious to defy it.

Trump doesn't need the money from donors, so I'm not sure where you got that from. It's a fair assumption to make but really?

Also, the White House's website was wiped clean to a fresh template just like it was when Obama took office. Nothing was actually deleted as Obama's version has been archived.

This hysteria needs to stop.
