I've had good luck with my Asustor 4 bay NAS, they seem to come in priced about ~25% lower than Synology/QNAP stuff with lower powered processors. Great if you don't intend to be transcoding any media from it. My AS1004T runs Raid5 no problem so I doubt Raid1 would be an issue

Any Synology J series NAS would do fine. I have a 215j myself and it works great as a time machine back-up for my Macs, general file server and NFS server for serving ISO files to my ESXi host. Only cost about $150 when I got it. Not bad at all.
