Hi,

My PC gets way slower internet speeds, than it should get.

I get a 77,67Mb/s download speed, whilst having a 150Mb/s data plan. I tested this using a speedtest by Ookla with only my PC connected to my network.

I have a MSI Z97S SLI krait mobo, that has a Realtek RTL8111G Ethernet controller(capable of 1Gb/s), connected to a TP-Link WPA4220 homeplug (capable of 300Mb/s).

The homeplug is connected to a Cisco EPC3925 router (capable of atleast 200Mb/s).

Why do I only get half the speed I pay for, and how can I fix this?

Thanks in advance!

Depends on the time of day and how many other people are using the network, or the "cabinet" that you're receiving your internet from. If you wait until about 2/3 am in the morning, you'll most likely get the full 150Mb/s. That's the case for me anyway

Hi,

you probably have an aggregated connection, meaning the link you are on is shared by other people.

Have you called your ISP and asked them if they can see anything wrong on their end? While you won't always get your advertised speeds you should at least get close-ish to them most of the time, unless you're in an apartment building or something with tons of users hitting the same link.

your ISP probably labeled it with 150 Mbit/s **

**Up to 150 Mbit/s

Depending on how far the line to your house is, it could drop. Or like others said, it could be shared by others, then the line is overbooked

My Setup:
CPU: i7 4790 @3800 MHz, MB: MSI H87-G41, Grafik: Gigabyte GTX 1080TI, RAM: 2x 8GB DDR3 (1600), Storage: Samsung SSD 850 Evo
